Job summary

The City of Portland, Maine, is hiring an entry-level Airport Operations Coordinator for PWM. The role provides centralized security and communications oversight from the 24/7/365 Operations Center and supports TSA/FAA inspections, gate assignments, and irregular operations.

The position offers a starting hourly pay of $28.49 to $32.06, with sign-on bonus of $1,500 and relocation $2,500 for external candidates, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Background investigations including TSA 49 CFR Part 1542 must be passed.
• Valid U.S. State Driver’s License required; airfield driving proficiency expected after probation.
• Knowledge of FAA and TSA rules and regulations; able to use MS Office and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Monitor surveillance video, access control, alarms, mass notification systems, weather equipment, phones and radios.
• Assist with terminal inspections, TSA/FAA inspections, aircraft gate assignments, irregular operations, tests and audits.
• Process background checks for airport badge holders as a Trusted Agent.
