Job summary

The Town of Taos is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I for Taos Regional Airport. This full-time role involves maintenance of runways, hangars, lighting, and facilities, with supervision by the Airport Manager and a broad set of routine tasks throughout the airport campus.

The position requires basic maintenance knowledge, high school diploma, and willingness to handle seasonal duties. 24-hour readiness and safety compliance are essential, with excellent benefit offerings included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some knowledge of airport maintenance methods and safety practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and entry-level skilled work on airport facilities, including electrical systems, lighting, plumbing, grounds, runways, hangars and navigation lights.
• Assist inspections of runways, fuel systems, weather equipment and related infrastructure; monitor safety and operation of airfield.
• Use hand and power tools to maintain lighting, electrical and plumbing systems; perform seasonal tasks like snow removal and weed control.
• Support operation and routine maintenance of airport vehicles and heavy equipment; help maintain logs and records.
