Job summary

City of Houston, Houston Airports System – Hobby Airport Terminal Maintenance, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic III to prevent equipment failures, identify hazards, and perform repairs across airport facilities, including pumps, plumbing, and related machinery. Work may span IAH, HOU, and EFD campuses.

The role requires at least one year of building or mechanical maintenance experience, a valid Texas driver’s license, and ability to obtain required security clearances.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in Building or Mechanical Maintenance.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Valid Texas driver’s license; CDL may be required per department rules.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, and maintains pumps and rotating equipment.
• Repairs and maintains plumbing fixtures and related machinery.
• Operates vehicles to and from work sites as needed.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical and HVAC systems as assigned.
• Assists with carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance tasks.
• Responds to maintenance requests and emergencies promptly (within standard response times).
