Job summary

The City of Houston's Houston Airport System (HAS) Maintenance division seeks a Maintenance Mechanic III to prevent mechanical failure and identify safety hazards across HAS facilities, including IAH, HOU and EFD. The role may require work on various pumps and equipment throughout the airport complex with routine preventative maintenance.

Candidates must obtain all security badges (including Custom Border Patrol access) within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

Specialized training beyond high school level in a specific area or trade may be required.
One year of experience in Building or Mechanical maintenance is required.
Must have valid Texas driver’s license and comply with City of Houston driving policy; may require CDL.

Responsibilities

Installs mechanical equipment and components.
Repairs, refurbishes, and maintains pumps and miscellaneous rotating equipment.
Operates vehicles and specialized equipment in support of restroom and facility maintenance.
Repairs and maintains equipment and parts; practice conservation.
Performs general building maintenance including painting, carpentry, plumbing and roofing repairs.
Rehabilitates and monitors equipment, facilities and systems such as elevators and HVAC.
Provides preventive maintenance to equipment, buildings and facilities.
May lead and train lower-level personnel.
