Job summary

NMS is seeking a Food Prep Helper to support the Alaska Airlines Lounge kitchen in Anchorage. You will assist in preparing food, measuring and mixing ingredients, and keeping stations clean and organized for daily service.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least six months of food service experience, and a valid Food Handlers or ServSafe certificate. You must communicate in English, pass SIDA/AOA badge checks, and be able to work rotating shifts, including holidays and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least six (6) months of related food service experience.
• Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate contingent upon 30 days of hire.
• The ability to work rotating shifts and varying schedules including holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Ability to pass SIDA Badge test, which includes an assessment of knowledge related to airport security protocols, access control procedures, and safety regulations in secure and restricted areas.
• Ability to obtain an Alaska AOA Badge. To be eligible, applicants must meet FBI background checks, TSA security requirements, and no warrants.

Responsibilities

• Reviews recipes and product instructions.
• Determines food quantity needs.
• Prep, measure, mix, cut, season, and store ingredients for cooking and serving.
• Prepare hot and cold dishes and store them correctly following safety guidelines.
• Check work areas to ensure service standards are met.
• Log inventory and restock supplies when necessary.
• Sanitize equipment and stations according to protocols.
• May sample food for quality control.
• May perform basic cooking tasks as needed.
• Attend allergy and foodborne illness in-service trainings.
• Report accidents and injuries promptly.
• Follow safety policies and participate in safety meetings and trainings.
• Prepare serving stations with utensils, entrees, sides, condiments, and other foods.
• Restock in service zones and at counters or steam tables.
• Serve and restock food and dismantle stations after meals.
• Prepare and serve tea and coffee.
