Job summary

MWAA is seeking a Locksmith Apprentice in the Airport Maintenance Department at either DCA or IAD. This non-career, term position offers on-the-job and classroom training through the Airports Authority Trades Apprentice Employment Program to develop locksmith skills.

You will learn to respond to lock emergencies, install and repair lock hardware, manage keys, and assist with door inspections under supervision, with progression toward journey-level locksmith.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of at least one trades course or current enrollment in a trades program.
• Ability to obtain US work authorization and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency lock, key, or door hardware problems and perform repairs.
• Assist with inspections of doors and adjust or repair hardware.
• Learn to use lock system software and manage master key systems under supervision.
