Job summary

SMS Clean is hiring for a 1st shift Lead Custodian at CVG Airport in Hebron, Kentucky. The role requires supervising cleaning operations, scheduling support, and hands-on cleaning of areas including rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and more.

The position emphasizes safety and equipment operation, with responsibilities for lifting, moving supplies, and using various cleaning machines. Benefits accompany this role with competitive compensation for 1st shift.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in janitorial housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Basic computer skills desired but not required.
• No certifications needed

Responsibilities

• Assist Facility Manager with scheduling
• Assist with administrative duties
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Lifting chairs and place them over tables (approx. chair weight: 20-25 lbs.)
• Moving chemicals (5 gal buckets -- approx. weight 40+ lbs.)
• Moving tables (approx. weight 40+ lbs.)
• Operates different types of equipment (i.e. burnishers, scrubbers, pressure washer)
• Uses ManLift or ScissorLift Machine
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills

Education

Prior janitorial housekeeping experience preferred
