Job summary

Peraton is hiring for Customer Technical Specialists to support DHS/TSA at airports nationwide. On-site duties at Washington, DC area locations and travel up to 25% are required to deliver IT operational and project support for the Federal Security Director and screening workforce.

Daily tasks include hands-on IT support for network systems, desktops, VoIP and security clocks, plus installation and configuration of end-user devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 0 years experience or Associate’s degree with 2 years or HS diploma/equivalent and 4 years of experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain/maintain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
• Experience supporting end-user IT hardware and software in a desk-side or field service environment.
• Experience supporting variety of IT technologies (Laptops, Mobile devices, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to support senior-level government staff with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support for IT and network systems (Cisco switches, desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners).
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues remotely and in-person.
• Install and configure end-user devices (laptops, mobile devices, VTC units) and peripherals.
• Support infrastructure components (fiber backbones, patch panels, interconnectivity) ensuring secure communications.
• Log and manage updates via ticketing system and maintain asset/configuration records.
• Conduct routine IT inventory audits and update documentation.
• Recommend technology/process improvements with Peraton leadership.
• Provide professional support to senior government personnel in high-profile environments.
• Support end-user devices, software, network infra, VoIP, AV systems, and related tools.
• Coordinate desk-side installations for new software or hardware fixes.
• Investigate and resolve connectivity issues related to end-user and site IT equipment.
