Job summary

Waukesha County is seeking an Airport Maintenance Worker to maintain airport grounds, landscaping, and facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all users. Under supervision, you will manage vegetation, operate snow removal and de-icing equipment, and perform routine preventive maintenance on assets while coordinating with the Airport Manager and seasonal staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED equivalent.
• Previous experience in park maintenance work is desirable.
• Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License within 12 months of hire is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform vegetation maintenance such as brush cutting, mowing, and minor landscaping.
• Operate equipment for snow removal and de-icing operations.
• Inspect and operate daily assigned equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, facilities, and grounds.
• Assist Airport Manager/designee in prioritizing, directing, and supervising seasonal staff.
• Respond to emergencies (snowstorms, windstorms, flooding, accidents, fires).

Education

Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred)
