Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Hartford, CT is seeking a Ground Equipment Mechanic responsible for the safe repair and rebuilding of airport service vehicles such as support trucks, tankers, and hydrant trucks. You will inspect parts, repair gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems, and support the aircraft services team with preventative maintenance.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 3–5 years of mechanical experience, and ability to read/write/speak English.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Airports and Custom badges/seals.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair airport service vehicles and equipment including gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality checks on refueling equipment and maintain records.
• Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles.
• Provide preventive care to equipment to support the aircraft services team.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment following health, safety and security policies.
