Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation is hiring an Airport Fleet Service Worker to maintain and service city vehicles and equipment at the airport. The role involves routine maintenance, tire work, and light to heavy mechanical tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• Ability to oil, grease, and service light and heavy vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to read and write legibly and keep simple records.
• Ability to perform heavy physical work (lift up to 80 pounds).
• May require Utah Commercial Drivers License within 90 days of employment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license or driving privilege card.

Responsibilities

• Washes, cleans and services City vehicles daily.
• Under supervision, performs unskilled to routine semi-skilled mechanic work on light and heavy equipment.
• Services light and heavy equipment with oil, grease, and water; checks batteries; checks and lubricates transmissions and differentials; washes and steam cleans vehicles, motors and equipment.
• Maintains standard shop records such as time, maintenance part orders, and records of job orders.
• Repairs, mounts, and balances tires on a variety of light and heavy vehicles.
• Performs preventive maintenance as directed.
• Operates and drives a variety of heavy equipment to and from repair sites.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
