Job summary

Salt-Lake-City-Corporatio is seeking an Airport Fleet Service Worker to perform routine maintenance, service city vehicles and heavy equipment, and assist mechanics. You’ll wash, service, and balance tires, and keep records of shop orders under supervision.

This hands-on role requires physical work and teamwork to keep airport operations safe and reliable. The position offers full-time hours with city benefits, competitive hourly pay, and opportunities to advance in a busy municipal fleet.

Qualifications

• Ability to oil, grease, and service light and heavy vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to read and write legibly and keep simple records.
• Ability to perform heavy physical work (lift up to 80 pounds).
• May require Utah Commercial Drivers License within 90 days of employment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license or driving privilege card.

Responsibilities

• Washes, cleans and services City vehicles on a daily basis.
• Under supervision, performs unskilled to routine semi-skilled mechanic work on light and heavy equipment.
• Services light and heavy equipment with oil, grease, and water; checks batteries and lubricates transmissions and differentials.
• Maintains standard shop records such as time, maintenance part orders, and records of job orders.
• Repairs, mounts, and balances tires on a variety of light and heavy vehicles.
• Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles as directed by shift supervisor.
• Operates and drives a variety of heavy equipment to and from repair sites.

Services automobiles, trucks and heavy equipment with oil and grease; makes tire repairs; and cleans motors and equipment. Serves as helper to skilled mechanics. Reports to shift supervisor.Early application submittal is encouraged.
