Job summary

V2X Inc in Newark, NJ, seeks a Lead Field Technician to support the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s PIDS. The role is part of a NY/NJ-based System Engineering and Maintenance team that designs, builds, tests, and maintains a 24/7 surveillance system at major airports.

The selected candidate will coordinate weekly maintenance, oversee field subcontractors, and work with site leads to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional experience with at least 4 years on operational airport security systems.
Experience leading field activities for technicians and coordinating subcontractors.
Experience testing equipment and performing field troubleshooting.
Must be able to obtain a SIDA badge and pass federal background checks.
Proficient with Windows, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

Execute weekly maintenance and project schedules as directed by Site/Ops Leads.
Oversee field technicians and subcontractors on PIDS installations and maintenance.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and sensor installations.
Learn equipment uses and field troubleshooting from manuals and on-the-job training.
Generate daily field activity reports authored by V2X technicians.
Coordinate with site lead, ops lead, field techs, supply chain and engineering.
Create checklists and assist with schedules as required.
Assess and recommend improvements to processes and procedures.
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for hotline support.
