Job summary

City of Gainesville seeks an Airport Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of tasks in construction, maintenance and repair of airport facilities. You will assist the public, support fueling operations, and respond after hours for fueling of aircraft with Avgas and JetA.

Work schedule includes weekends and requires flexibility. Training is provided; CDL may be required by supervisor. Safety and cooperation with the Airport team are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write at a level necessary for job performance.
• Experience in grounds maintenance or airport operations is desirable but trainable.
• Valid driver's license required; Class A CDL may be required on request.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean sidewalks at airport facilities.
• Repair and maintain terminal facilities; sanitize public areas.
• Repair and maintain restrooms; sanitize facilities.
• Landscaping tasks; mowing and trimming vegetation; pesticide applications.
• Fuel testing and quality control; refuel aircraft; maintain fuel farm.
• Assist public with information on weather and runway use.
• Input information in computer programs; maintain rental and fuel records.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
