Job summary

City of Avon Park is seeking a versatile maintenance worker to support airport operations under the Airport Operations Manager. The role includes grounds maintenance, signage, minor repairs, and basic vehicle and equipment tasks to keep airfield and terminal areas safe and presentable.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least two years of general work experience; a NATA fueling certification is preferred or the ability to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of general work experience required.
• Knowledge of basic handyman tools and mechanical aptitude required.

Responsibilities

• Grounds maintenance: edging, fertilizing, trimming, landscaping, mulching.
• Operate landscape equipment (Batwing, zero-turn, edger, weed-eater).
• Use hand tools (drills, saws).
• Install signs and repair fences, replace posts as needed.
• Measure fuel tank levels and perform daily fuel-related tasks.
