Job summary

AVFLIGHT CORPORATION in Rochester, NY is seeking a Fuel Facility Technician to perform quality control, data management and fuel facility service tasks in an airport setting.

You will execute safety inspections, manage inventory, receive jet fuel, and test fuel per ATA 103 while adhering to FAA and Avflight safety policies. The role requires physical work and flexibility for third shift, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, monthly, quarterly and annual fuel facility safety inspections.
• Ensure all equipment is in safe operating order and functioning properly.
• Assist with daily quality control inspections and inventory management.
• Receive jet fuel into fuel facility storage tank system.
• Perform quality assurance testing of fuel as required per ATA 103 standards.
• Follow FAA, Federal, State, local, ATA 103, NFPA and Avflight safety policies and procedures.
• Complete training per ATA103, NFPA and Avflight guidelines.
• Assist with periodic and discrepancy maintenance.
• Assist with fuel facility spill prevention and cleanup.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed and perform grounds keeping tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

General Purpose of Job:

The Fuel Facility Technician is responsible for performing a variety of quality control, data management and fuel facility service tasks.

Duties:

• Perform daily, monthly, quarterly and annual fuel facility safety inspections
• Ensure all equipment is in safe operating order and functioning properly
• Assist with daily quality control inspections and inventory management
• Receive jet fuel into fuel facility storage tank system
• Perform quality assurance testing of fuel as required per ATA 103 standards
• Understand and follow all FAA, Federal, State, local, ATA 103, NFPA and Avflight safety policies and procedures
• Complete all necessary training per ATA103, NFPA and Avflight guidelines
• Assist with fuel facility periodic and discrepancy maintenance
• Assist with the prevention and cleanup of fuel facility spills
• Ability to drive heavy equipment such as snowplow, lawn tractors and other equipment as needed to maintain fuel facility grounds
• Perform grounds keeping and janitorial maintenance duties
• Perform other duties as assigned

QualificationsQualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older
• High School diploma or GED equivalent,
• 2 years related experience, Aviation experience a plus
• Must have valid Driver's license with a good driving record within company standards
• Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
• Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment

Physical Demands

• Strenuous lifting and pulling fuel hoses (75-80 lbs.). Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including climbing, bending at the waist and knees, squatting, stooping, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time
• Must have sufficient vision and ability to perform the essential functions of the position safely

Work Environment

Airport environment: Indoors and Outdoors. Extreme outdoor conditions where extreme temperature ranges may be encountered
