Job summary

City of Gainesville is seeking a dedicated Airport Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in construction, maintenance and repair of airport facilities, and to assist the public with information. The role includes fueling operations and after-hours response.

The position requires flexibility with weekends, physical effort, and the ability to use a range of tools and equipment, with on-the-job training for aircraft fueling and related procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• Fuel testing and quality control techniques and aircraft fueling training will be provided on the job.
• Experience in building/grounds maintenance or airport operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean sidewalks and facilities; sanitize public areas.
• Repair and maintain airport facilities and restrooms; use chemicals.
• Maintain equipment; perform fuel tests and quality control inspections.
• Refuel aircraft and assist with fueling procedures.
• Answer questions and provide information to customers and visitors.
• Input data in Word/Excel and maintain records (hangar rentals, fuel records).
