Job summary

The Environmental Compliance Specialist at Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority ensures adherence to environmental laws and regulations. You will assist with regulatory applicability, conduct audits and inspections, collect samples, respond to spills, and maintain data in GIS/SharePoint systems, on a 24-hour call basis as needed.

Working with MNAA stakeholders, you will review plans, coordinate with agencies, and support environmental stewardship across airport operations, while upholding

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state and local environmental requirements applicable to airport operations.
• Ability to identify compliance gaps and participate in corrective actions.
• Experience with environmental audits, inspections, spill response, and data management.
• Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitors permits, activities and assets to ensure regulatory compliance and permits requirements.
• Assists in preparing and submitting permit applications, plans and reports to agencies (e.g., US EPA, USACE, TDEC, Metro Health Department).
• Conducts daily inspections to identify compliance gaps and track corrective actions.
• Responds to spill incidents and coordinates response to minimize environmental impact.
• Reviews activities to identify regulatory applicability for new projects or assets.
• Collects water and waste samples as directed and maintains data records in GIS/SharePoint.
