Job summary

The City of Austin, through the Department of Aviation at AUS, seeks an Airport Electronics Technician to install, maintain, and diagnose electromechanical security and fire alarm systems in 24/7 facilities.

You will read blueprints, coordinate with contractors, perform preventive maintenance, calibrate equipment, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least four years of electronics experience, with CMMS and CCTV knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four (4) years of electronics/electromechanical maintenance or installation experience.
• Experience in aviation, military, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, diagnose complex electromechanical and electronic security and fire alarm systems.
• Repair CCTV systems using bucket truck and aerial lifts.
• Complete work orders, read blueprints, and prepare as-built mark-up.
• Perform preventative maintenance on life-safety and A/V systems.
• Maintain records in the asset management system (AMS).
• Coordinate maintenance and outages with facility users and contractors.
