Job summary

The Server at HMSHost at the New Orleans Airport F&B location is responsible for taking food and beverage orders, entering orders quickly and in proper sequence, and serving guests in their section while coordinating with the kitchen for timely service and quality. You will provide the highest level of service to every customer.

This is a non-exempt position. The role requires ability to lift up to 20 lbs, stand and move about, and comply with HMSHost cash handling and guest service policies.

Qualifications

• Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages.
• At least 6 months of related serving experience in a high-volume or fast casual dining environment preferred.
• Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to walk, bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job duties.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policies, and communicate with customers.
• Hands are frequently immersed in water and with chemical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Takes food and beverage orders, places orders, delivers orders, and checks back after delivery to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintains table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter and restocking napkins.
• Presents check for payment and provides change as needed.
• Follows HMSHost customer service, alcohol service and cash handling policies and procedures.
• Keeps station clean, sets up and takes down station tables as required.
