General Description and Classification Standards
Serves as an executive for the Airport. Assists the Airport General Manager and Airport Executive Deputy General Manager in planning and directing the operations of the Department of Aviation to ensure it meets the expectations of the tenants and users of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This role ensures the airport maintains the highest standards of safety, efficiency, operational excellence, and regulatory adherence, while promoting a proactive and resilient environment that supports the airport's mission and long-term strategic goals. Duties include but are not limited to : assisting in the management of department managers and directors; communicating goals and strategies; ensuring that the goals of the airport and city are met; policy development, implementation and interpretation; and processing associated paperwork. Helps to establish operating policies; builds relationships across department and City organizations; helps to develop and manage organizational budget. Provides assistance in planning for the long-term talent needs of the organization.
Supervision Received
Direction received is very general and focuses on strategic objectives and is typically collaborative in nature. This is a policy-making level of management and is considered executive leadership.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Business, Engineering, or other pertinent discipline (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree) and ten (10) years of experience in professional leadership roles in multiple areas of airport operations and management.
Licensures and Certifications
Industry certifications such as AAAE Certified Member (CM), ACE, AAE, IAP, or other relevant certifications preferred.
Preferred Requirements
Master's Degree in above disciplines, plus twelve (12) to fifteen (15) years of leadership experience in a major airport or other large-scale, high-complexity operational environment (e.g., hospitals, seaports, or transportation hubs).
