Qualifications

Job description

Airport Coordinator – MIA

This is a seasonal, part-time position assisting our Logistics Team at specific US hub airports during peak summer travel season (mid-June to mid-August). Airport Coordinators are the primary point of contact for families on travel days, working in the airline check-in area to greet and assist TFT travelers and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service: As the first point of contact for many families, create a positive and welcoming experience. Calm anxieties, answer questions, and build excitement for the upcoming trip.
  • Facilitate check-in and airport processes: Guide travelers through check-in, security, and boarding procedures. Escort Unaccompanied Minors as needed.
  • Track and manage traveler groups: Maintain clear communication with travelers and TFT staff to ensure all students are accounted for. Adapt to flight delays, cancellations, and other changes.
  • Handle travel-related issues: Act as the first responder for problems during check-in or with connecting flights. Collaborate with airline staff and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide occasional overnight chaperone support: Stay at an airport hotel to supervise travelers if needed due to airline schedule changes or emergencies.
Qualifications

  • Live near MIA Airport with reliable transportation (car or public transit)
  • Working smartphone and access to spreadsheets
  • Experience working with teenagers
  • Ability to work 12+ hours on/off and stand/walk for extended periods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay calm and resourceful under pressure
  • Significant airport/airline experience preferred (bonus for experience with Unaccompanied Minors)
Dates

Must be available for at least 8-10 of the following dates. Those with more availability will be given greater consideration. (Not guaranteed to work all dates; hotel overnights as needed)

June: 18th, 28th, 29th

July: 5th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 27th, 31st

August: 1st, 11th

Compensation

Compensation is based on time spent at the airport, with increased pay if an overnight airport stay is needed. Meal and travel stipends will also be included.
