Job summary

The Cook position at HMSHost at Reagan National Airport Food & Beverage is a non-exempt role responsible for preparing cooked foods across Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and eggs stations. You will communicate ticket times and ensure high quality service to customers and associates.

Essential duties include following recipes, maintaining HACCP standards, and keeping stations clean while handling warm and sharp equipment in a high-volume setting. 1 year cooking experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards.
• Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience in high-volume casual dining.
• Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and communicate with customers.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to bend, twist and stand for long periods.
• Hands frequently immersed in water and chemical solutions.
• Frequent use of sharp knives and hot plates.
• Frequent work in a hot environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and product directions to prepare, season, cook, taste, carve and serve food items.
• Estimate food requirements and check production to plan quantities and requisition supplies.
• Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment.
• Maintain HACCP standards and food safety practices.
• Operate kitchen equipment and prepare ingredients for service.
• Stock, date, rotate and check product temperatures.
