Job summary

City of Chicago’s Chicago Department of Aviation seeks a Construction Coordinator for the Facilities Section at O'Hare International Airport. You will coordinate and schedule contract maintenance and repair projects, work with in-house trades and contractors, and review work orders to ensure timely completion and minimal disruption to airport operations.

Five years of construction operations experience (two in supervision) or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required,

Qualifications

Five (5) years of experience managing and coordinating construction operations, with two (2) years supervisory experience.
Associate's degree plus three (3) years of experience, with two (2) years supervisory experience.
Bachelor's degree or higher plus one (1) year of experience coordinating construction operations, with two (2) years supervisory experience.
Valid driver’s license from the State of Illinois is required.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and schedules contract maintenance/repair projects at O'Hare International Airport.
Coordinates projects with in-house trades, contractors, and airport partners.
Reviews work orders and communicates with department staff to clarify scope of work and schedules of contractors for repairs.
Conducts site visits to evaluate existing conditions and identify potential airport operational impacts.
Revises contract language for contract modifications or bids, as required.
Attends pre-construction meetings with tenants and their contractors.
