Job summary

DO & CO in Boston is seeking a dynamic Cook II to join our team. In this role you will prep, cook, and plate high-quality airline service dishes, while ensuring adherence to DO & CO standards and safety regulations.

This is a fast-paced environment requiring teamwork, reliability, and strong cooking skills. The position offers competitive pay ($25.36/hr), daily meals, and full-time benefits including 401K and medical coverage (medical, dental, and vision).

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years cooking experience.
• Proactive and organized approach to duties.
• Capability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
• Accurately monitor wastage.
• Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
• Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate cooking techniques such as prepping, roasting, broiling, braising, sautéing, and grilling. etc.
• Responsible for preparing sauces, marinating proteins, and assembling complex dishes tailored for airline service.
• Create products in terms of freshness, taste, and consistency to the specification of the airline and DO & CO’s standards.
• Supervise supply-chain systems by controlling the timing of food production flow and processing to avoid delays.
• Notify the Chef/Sous Chef of any shortages or discrepancies in products or ingredients.
• Supports the training and supervision of Line Cook 1 employees, ensuring adherence to airline catering standards and procedures.
• Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook.
