Job summary

The ABX Airline Aircraft Engineer will provide engineering and technical support to aircraft operations and maintenance, including preparation of documentation for modifications/repairs of aircraft structures and systems. You will evaluate service bulletins, directives, and FAA rules to determine applicability and implementation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• BS Engineering or Engineering Technology OR AS Engineering Technology or related field + 2 years aerospace engineering experience OR BS (any discipline) + 2 years aerospace engineering experience OR 5+ years aviation engineering with A&P license and 10+ years heavy transport maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams
• Familiar with CAD/drawing programs and technical subjects in structures, hydraulics, avionics, electrical, pneumatics, fuel systems

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical support to aircraft operations and maintenance, including documentation for modifications/repairs
• Evaluate service bulletins, directives, and FAA rules for applicability
• Prepare and manage engineering projects and documentation to support maintenance
• Develop work instructions and determine scheduling; identify required parts and tools
• Design and analyze structural repairs and component installations
• Coordinate with internal departments, OEMs, and FAA DERs for approvals
• Evaluate new aircraft equipment and systems, prepare safety/reliability reports
• Maintain and manage technical data, orders, drawings, and project files
• Define operational checks, test procedures, and validation requirements
• Provide guidance to engineering staff and external vendors
• Coordinate across departments for timely, integrated results
