Job summary

BETA Technologies is seeking a Structures Design Engineer to develop airframe components from concept through flight test. The role is based onsite in South Burlington, VT, with some hybrid options and occasional visits to the Raleigh, NC office.

You will create CAD data, define structures, and ensure manufacturability while coordinating with cross-functional teams. 2+ years in aerospace structure is required and US persons only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of aircraft structural design or related aerospace product development.
• Proficient in CATIA or 3DEXPERIENCE CAD environments.
• Knowledge of load paths, sizing, composites/metallic design, joints, fasteners, GD&T, configuration control.
• Experience producing detailed CAD drawings and supporting hardware manufacture.
• Ability to document assumptions and communicate risks clearly.
• US Person required.

Responsibilities

• Develop primary and secondary metallic, composite, and hybrid airframe components.
• Create and maintain CAD drawings and definitions for structure, joints, interfaces.
• Translate requirements, loads, geometry, and constraints into structural designs.
• Support layout, configuration, and interface trades across airframe components.
• Perform preliminary sizing and hand calculations; work with Stress to mature designs.
• Design for manufacturing, assembly, inspection, maintainability, weight, cost, and schedule.
• Support design reviews, product release, manufacturing, build, and test issue resolution.
• Coordinate with Stress, Loads, Aerodynamics, Dynamics, Materials and Processes, Systems, Manufacturing, and suppliers.
