Job summary

City of Prescott invites applications for an Airport Operations Technician responsible for daily safety inspections and maintenance to support safe, compliant airport operations. The position requires knowledge of FAA Part 139, security procedures, and coordination with ATC.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 1 year in airfield operations, a valid AZ driver's license, and completion of the Airport Operations training program within 3 months of hire; ACE designation preferred or

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of airfield operations and/or maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid Arizona driver's license and background checks required.
• Complete Airport Operations training within 3 months of hire.
• AAAE ACE designation or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Arizona Class B CDL desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily airport safety and security inspections of facilities, perimeter, grounds, and properties to ensure regulatory compliance and proper reporting.
• Conduct daily, nightly and special inspections per FAA and ACM guidelines; issue NOTAMs and logs.
• Monitor on-airport construction for safety and conformance with plans.
• Respond to aircraft incidents and activate the Airport Emergency Plan as needed.
• Operate heavy machinery and maintain perimeter roads; conduct general maintenance tasks.
• Provide airfield driver training and assist with airport documentation.
