Job summary

Fulton County Airport is seeking an Airfield Maintenance Worker to perform routine airfield maintenance, operate tools, and maintain grounds and equipment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus vocational training in airfield movement, and at least two years of related experience.

A valid Georgia driver’s license and airfield certification due within three months are required. The position entails performing preventative maintenance, repairing lighting and navigational systems,

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; supplemented by vocational or technical training in airfield movement.
  • Two years of experience in landscape maintenance, vehicle maintenance, or equipment operation.
  • Equivalency by education, training, and experience accepted to meet minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes hand and power tools to maintain airfield runways, taxiways, light lanes, and parking lots.
  • Repairs and maintains equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance in the airport, including replacing filters and inspecting systems.
  • Maintains Runway End Identifier Lights (REIL) and other navigational light systems.
  • Communicates with air traffic control technicians via two-way radio.
  • Performs additional maintenance duties as required.
