Job summary

Fulton County is seeking an Automotive Technician to service and repair County vehicles and light equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting inspections and repairs to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with automotive training, two years of experience, and a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, plus vocational/technical automotive training or equivalent.
• Two years of automotive mechanics experience or equivalent education/training.
• Must possess a Georgia Driver's License; CDL Class B with passenger and haz endorsement required within six months.

Responsibilities

• Services or replaces components in vehicle systems (ignition, brakes, electrical, heating, cooling, fuel, suspension).
• Diagnoses, refurbishes, repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds mechanical systems (engines, drive trains, brakes, electrical).
• Troubleshoots with breakout boxes, engine analyzers, and electronic scan tools.
• Performs vehicle emission and safety inspections and keeps repair records.
• Maintains preventive maintenance, including oil changes and fluid checks.
