Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have NIMS 100, 200, 300, 700, and 800.
  • NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification required in Alabama or reciprocity.
  • NFPA 472 HazMat-Operations certification or reciprocity.
  • NFPA 1003 Airport Firefighter certification or reciprocity.
  • NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor I within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assume or assist in command of incidents and supervise personnel.
  • Respond to medical emergencies involving employees and visitors.
  • Supervise station apparatus and equipment readiness.
  • Inspect vehicles, equipment, buildings, and fueling facilities for hazards.
  • Lead in the AirBus Mobile Emergency Action Plan and weather responses.
  • Plan and conduct shift training and drills; document training records.
  • Respond to all emergency and non-emergency calls; mutual aid as needed.
  • Drive emergency vehicles and ensure safe arrival of crew to scenes.
  • Perform life safety equipment inspections and reports.
