Qualifications

  • 7+ years of civil engineering experience, including 2+ years in aviation.
  • PE license in Idaho or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience preparing aviation plans, details, and technical specifications.

The Opportunity

RS&H is seeking a rising aviation professional to join our Boise-focused aviation team as an Airfield Engineer / Project Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to support active work at Boise Airport (BOI) while playing a key role in strengthening client relationships and expanding RS&H’s aviation presence across Idaho.

What You’ll Do

Lead Project Delivery

  • Support aviation projects from concept through construction, including airfield design, pavements, utilities, and supporting infrastructure
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and technical leaders across RS&H’s aviation practice
  • Oversee design efforts, ensure quality control, and support scope, schedule, and budget management
  • Coordinate with airport staff, FAA representatives, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Prepare plans, specifications, technical memoranda, and supporting documentation

Develop Technical & Leadership Skills

  • Apply FAA standards and aviation best practices to solve complex design challenges
  • Grow your ability to make independent technical decisions with guidance from senior mentors
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented culture
  • Take on increasing levels of project responsibility over time

Grow Relationships & the Idaho Aviation Market

  • Strengthen RS&H’s relationship with Boise Airport (BOI)
  • Participate in client meetings and help maintain trusted-advisor relationships
  • Contribute to proposals, interviews, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Represent RS&H at local and regional aviation industry events
  • Partner with regional leadership to expand RS&H’s aviation footprint in Idaho
Required

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 7+ years of civil engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in aviation
  • PE license in Idaho or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Strong understanding of aviation design fundamentals
  • Experience preparing aviation plans, details, and technical specifications
  • Ability to lead tasks or components of small to moderate projects
  • Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office
