Job summary

RS&H is seeking a seasoned Airfield Engineer to join the Atlanta team. You will lead projects from concept through construction, shaping aviation infrastructure while mentoring staff and building client relationships in a dynamic, employee-owned firm.

The role emphasizes ownership potential, technical leadership, and collaboration with airports, airlines, and regulators across Georgia. Qualified candidates bring PE licensure and aviation design experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
  • 5+ years of civil design experience, with 2+ years in aviation.
  • PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Strong technical knowledge of aviation design fundamentals.
  • Experience with aviation plans and technical specifications.
  • Proven ability to lead small to moderate-sized projects.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Delivery: oversee airfield design, pavement, utilities, terminals, and infrastructure.
  • Oversee design teams, manage quality assurance, and track financial performance.
  • Coordinate with airports, airlines, FAA, and stakeholders across the region.
  • Prepare project plans, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Develop Leadership Skills: mentor junior engineers and foster collaboration.
  • Grow the Business: support proposals and client relationship management.

What You'll Do
Lead Project Delivery
  • Support project execution from concept through construction – airfield design, pavement, utilities, terminals, and infrastructure
  • Oversee design teams, manage quality assurance, and track financial performance
  • Coordinate with airports, airlines, FAA, and stakeholders across the region
  • Prepare project plans, specifications, and technical reports
Develop Leadership Skills
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster collaborative team culture

Grow the Business

Required
What We're Looking For
