Job summary

Zobility is recruiting a Mechanical Repair Technician I to perform technical/mechanical inspections for aircraft wheel and brake overhaul. The role covers disassembly, cleaning, painting, and final assembly in a safety‑sensitive shop environment.

The candidate will follow customer specifications and applicable FAA/JAA data, handle large components, and participate in continuous process improvements while maintaining a clean, compliant work area.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical inspection and repair of aircraft components.
• Ability to follow FAA and other applicable technical data and procedures.
• Willingness to stand/walk for long periods and perform manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Conducts receiving inspection of in-coming assemblies/components per procedures and data.
• Disassembles, washes, blasts, paints, builds up, tests and inspects aircraft components per specs.
• Manages manual handling of large aircraft wheels and brakes.
• Maintains segregation and identification of components in progress.
• Adheres to FAA/JAA data and customer requirements when performing work.
• Performs painting, mixing primer/paint and application.
• Maintains shop and equipment, ensuring a neat, orderly area.
• Identifies non-value-added steps and seeks lean improvements.
• Demonstrates commitment to continuous process improvement and responsibilities as assigned.
• Safety sensitive position and works in a repair/overhaul environment.
• Works with exposure to hazardous waste following regulatory requirements.
