Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking a contract Aircraft Tool Designer to work in OKC, OK. The role focuses on designing and creating fixtures and tooling for composite parts, including lamination molds, drill jigs, and CNC fixtures, to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Applicants should have Catia V5 proficiency and Smarteam PLM experience, plus a Bachelor's degree in engineering (or an associate with experience).

Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant engineering field, or an associate degree with experience.
Prior experience in mechanical design or tooling engineering is preferred.
Proficiency in 3D CAD and ability to generate manufacturing prints.
Experience with tooling for composite parts (lamination molds, drill jigs, trim fixtures, CNC fixtures).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

Develop, design, and create fixtures, tooling, and related equipment.
Review customer requirements, specifications, and interface drawings for contract compliance.
Utilize 3D CAD software to create and maintain models and drawings.
Prepare and update task lists and project documentation.
Interface with sales, engineering, and vendors to resolve issues and questions.
Identify and resolve vendor issues and defective material dispositions.
Contribute to product improvement and new product development.
