Aerotek is seeking an Aircraft Technician to inspect, test, adjust, and repair aircraft systems in a hangar environment, performing heavy maintenance and modifications to ensure safe operation.
The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, ability to interpret flight data, and proficiency with gauges and testing equipment. Flexible shifts and strict adherence to safety and quality standards are essential. This is an onsite Macon, GA position with potential for contract-to-hire arrangements.
This role focuses on inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing aircraft equipment and systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. You will work in a hangar environment performing detailed inspections, heavy maintenance, and modifications on aircraft, using your technical expertise to diagnose issues and complete high-quality repairs.
Inspect aircraft visually to identify mechanical issues, wear, damage, or irregularities in parts and systems.
Interpret flight data and maintenance reports to diagnose problems with aircraft components, systems, and equipment.
Remove worn, damaged, or malfunctioning parts and install appropriate replacement components according to maintenance procedures.
Test gauges, instruments, and equipment during routine service checks to verify proper function and performance.
Inspect completed repairs and maintenance work to ensure all tasks meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Consult maintenance manuals, technical documents, and manufacturer guidelines to determine proper repair and service procedures.
Stay current on the latest systems, technologies, and maintenance techniques used in aircraft to maintain high technical proficiency.
Maintain accurate, detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed on aircraft.
Support heavy maintenance and modification activities in the hangar, following established processes and safety protocols.
Collaborate with other technicians and team members to troubleshoot complex issues and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
At least 23 years of experience working in an aircraft hangar performing inspections and/or heavy maintenance and modifications.
Hands-on experience with aircraft maintenance and repair, including troubleshooting and replacing mechanical and system components.
Ability to interpret flight data and maintenance documentation to identify and diagnose system and component issues.
Proficiency in using aircraft gauges, test equipment, and tools required for inspections and routine service checks.
Strong understanding of aircraft systems, structures, and components, with the ability to follow technical manuals and procedures accurately.
Experience working as an Aircraft Technician or in a closely related aircraft maintenance role.
Willingness to work any shift as required by operational needs.
Attention to detail and commitment to completing repairs and inspections to high safety and quality standards.
Ability to maintain clear, accurate maintenance and repair records.
Experience working on CRJ 200, Challenger, or similar aircraft models.
Familiarity with completions work and heavy maintenance in a hangar environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and system issues.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented maintenance environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Macon, GA.
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
