Job summary

DAS Aviation is seeking a Structures Technician to support airframe sheet metal tasks. You will perform drilling, riveting and forming, apply sealants, and maintain facilities and tooling in a structured shop environment.

Ideal candidates bring knowledge of sheet metal processes and 0–5 years of journeyman experience, with a willingness to work under FAA guidelines and in a team-focused setting. This role operates within a controlled industrial warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sheet metal/fabrication processes (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing and dimpling).
• Journeyman: 0-5 years of experience as sheet metal technician.
• Master: 5+ years’ experience as a sheet metal technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic sheet metal operations on airframe components.
• Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.
• Maintain, clean and repair shop facilities, equipment and tooling.
• Safely operate shop equipment such as brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools.
• Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Responsibilities

As a Structures Technician at DAS Aviation, you will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:

• Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe components.
• Application and removal of sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.
• Maintenance, cleaning and repair of shop facilities, equipment and tooling when required.
• Safely operate shop equipment such as brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions.
• Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements/Qualifications

Your Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent. Airframe and Powerplant License is not required, but welcome. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Your Experience:
Knowledge of sheet metal or fabrication processes (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing and dimpling).
Journeyman: 0-5 years of experience as sheet metal technician.
Master: 5+ years’ experience as a sheet metal technician.

Physical Requirements

• Lifts 50 lbs.
• Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
• Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas.
• Standing for long periods of time.

• Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
• Work with others in a professional manner.

Supervision

Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in controlled environments in industrial warehouses. Multiple departments include: Teardown/Evaluation, Nacelle and heavy structural repairs, light structures repair on components.

Equipment Used

Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment.
