Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of aviation maintenance experience.
• Graduate of an approved aircraft structural repair course or apprenticeship.
• Eligible for Canadian CGP and Secret Level II clearance.
• Able to read/interpret maintenance manuals, drawings and procedures.
• Proficient in using standard computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform first, second and third level repairs on aircraft structural components and ground support equipment.
• Assess damage, control corrosion, repair/modify/replace structures using approved techniques.
• Support ramp duties: pre/post flight tasks, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling and equipment installation.
• Travel to other bases and deployments as required.
• Provide on-job training and participate in trade development/certification processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to company policies.

Position Overview

The Aircraft Structure Technician (ACS) performs Elementary, Servicing and Maintenance duties in support of the Main Operating Base (MOB). This position will report to Main Operating Base in Greenwood, NS.

What You Will Do

• Perform First, Second and Third Level repairs on aircraft structural components and ground support equipment.
• This will include, but not be limited to, the assessment of damage, control of corrosion, repairs, modification and replacement of aircraft structures and structural components using recognized techniques and specialized tools and equipment.
• Ramp duties will include, but not be limited to, pre/post flight support, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling and installation/removal of required mission equipment and crash and salvage response.
• Fly as necessary in support of maintenance, ferry and deployment operations.
• Travel and work at other main operating bases, deployments in support of operations at remote sites, mobile repair parties and ferry flights.
• Provide on-job-training to other employees.
• Attend training for trade and personnel development and for qualification/certification purposes.
• Sweep and clean hangar, shop, stores and office areas, remove all debris accumulated by tasks performed and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Adhere to policies, procedures and directives established by the Company.
• Provide supervision to other employees.
• Perform other tasks as may be required from time to time.

What You Will Bring

• Thorough knowledge of aircraft structures and structural components, inspection techniques, damage assessment, aircraft materials and hardware, use of special tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of corrosion control techniques.
• Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints and Standard Plant Procedures.
• Ability to use standard computer programs and such specialized ones as may be necessary in the performance of the duties.
• Ability to drive vehicles and tow tractors.
• Graduate of a recognized aircraft structural repair course or apprenticeship program and hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license or be qualified as an aircraft structures technician within the Canadian Armed Forces or equivalent commercial experience.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in aviation maintenance is required.
• Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program.
