Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join a maintenance team based in Welkom. You will inspect, repair, and fabricate aircraft structures, including wings, fuselage, and control surfaces, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with SRMs and ADs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Aircraft Structures Mechanic or Sheet Metal Worker in aviation.
• Able to read and interpret SRMs, blueprints, and technical docs.
• Skilled in sheet metal forming, riveting and repair techniques.
• Experience with composite material repair is a plus.
• Knowledge of aviation safety standards and procedures.
• Able to work independently and in a team in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect aircraft structures for damage, wear, corrosion, and fatigue.
• Perform repairs on structures using sheet metal, composites, and approved methods.
• Fabricate and install structural components per drawings and specs.
• Conduct NDT as required to assess structural integrity.
• Interpret SRMs, AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES, and manuals.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and modifications.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect aircraft structures for damage, wear, corrosion, and fatigue.

• Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) as required to assess structural integrity.
• Interpret technical manuals, structural repair manuals (SRMs), and airworthiness directives (ADs).
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and modifications performed on aircraft structures.

Requirements
