Job summary

StandardAero Augusta is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structural Mechanic to perform sheet metal repairs, modifications, and installations on all aircraft serviced at AGS. You will construct I-beams, doublers, stringers, and avionics trays to meet specifications and airworthiness standards.

Daily tasks include precision measurements with micrometers, calipers, and protractors, inspecting components, and documenting work.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years in aircraft sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience as Airframe Sheet Metal Specialist or Aircraft Mechanic.
• Experience building I-beams, doublers, stringers and corrosion control.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural aircraft repairs with sheet metal techniques and fasteners.
• Remove, replace, and relocate headers, stringers, doors, beams and bulkheads.
• Install Service Bulletin kits per OEM instructions.
• Plan repairs/modifications using blueprints, service bulletins, OEM specs and engineering orders.
• Use micrometers, calipers and protractors to measure and shape surfaces.
• Inspect aircraft per OEM manuals and document discrepancies.
• Complete Service Bulletins, Repair Letters, and Airworthiness Directives as required.
• Analyze mechanical problems to determine causes and best repair methods.

StandardAero Augusta is a Business Aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) facility, operating at AGS for over 50 years. We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Structural Mechanic to perform internal and external sheet metal repairs, modifications, and installations to all aircraft serviced in our facility. The right candidate will have extensive experience and confidence in their skills to build structural forms such as I-beams, doublers, stringers, and avionics trays.

What you’ll do:

• Perform structural aircraft repairs using appropriate sheet metal techniques and fasteners.
• Remove, replace, and relocate headers, stringers, doors, beams, and bulkheads while building up surfaces and structures to specifications.
• Install Service Bulletin kits using parts and instructions provided by OEM.
• Plan and develop schemes for sheet metal repairs and modifications by utilizing blueprints, sketches, service bulletins, OEM specifications, engineering orders, and other technical publications.
• Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and protractors, to accomplish repairs or modifications.
• Inspect aircraft in accordance with OEM Light or Heavy Maintenance manuals and evaluate removed components for serviceability, documenting discrepancies.
• Document all work accomplished in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
• Accomplish Service Bulletins, Repair Letters, and Airworthiness Directives as required.
• Analyze various mechanical problems to determine causes and the best methods of repair.

Position Requirements:

• A minimum of three (3) years of aircraft sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Prior experience working in the capacity of an Airframe Sheet Metal Specialist, Structural Technician or Aircraft Mechanic.
• Experience building I-beams, doublers, stringers, and performing corrosion control.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Preferred Characteristics:

• A valid FAA Airframe License.
• Previous experience building bespoke structures, trays and/or mounts of all sizes and applications.
• A valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
• Experience working alongside A&P Mechanics and Avionics Technicians performing heavy maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Corporate / Business Aviation or MRO experience strongly desired.
