Job summary

The Structures Company is recruiting for an Aircraft Structures Fuselage role based in Wichita, KS. This contract position runs for 3 months with potential extension, focusing on assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, and inspecting precision structural components per engineering specs.

Responsibilities include functional testing, applying shop mathematics, and using precision measuring instruments to verify fit and form.

Qualifications

  • Experience assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, and inspecting structural components per engineering specs.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments for functional testing.
  • Experience setting up and operating conventional and CNC fastening equipment.
  • Experience with drivematic processes or similar automated fastening operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, installs, seals, rigs, and inspects precision structural and system components using drawings, process specs and QC requirements.
  • Functional tests and corrects fit, form, and function of assemblies and components.
  • Obtains required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions and data.
  • Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring tools to complete work and tests.
  • Utilizes tooling to assemble components into sub-assemblies or end items.
  • Verifies work per instructions and specs; identifies discrepancies.
  • Performs routine minor machine maintenance including filter changes and lubrication.
  • Sets up and operates conventional and CNC fastening equipment.
  • Performs one or more specialties: Assembly/Installation of Structures, Sealer, or Sub Assembly.
  • Performs one or more specialty skills: Assembly/Installation Doors, Integral Fuel Cell Sealing, Precision Bench Assembly, or Pressure and Vacuum testing.

PAY RATE: $56/hour

Summary:
  • Assembles, installs, seals, rigs, and inspects precision structural and system components using drawings, process specifications, and quality control requirements.

  • Functional tests and corrects fit, form, and function of assemblies and components.

  • Obtains required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, and verbal or electronic data.

  • Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments and functional tests.

  • Utilizes tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.

  • Verifies work per work instructions and engineering specifications and identifies discrepancies per applicable procedures.

  • Performs routine minor machine maintenance including filter replacement, bulb changes, and lubrication or coolant level maintenance.

  • Sets up and operates conventional and CNC fastening equipment of less than simultaneous 3-axis movement (e.g., drivematic processes).

  • Performs one or more specialties: Assembly/Installation of Structures, Sealer, or Sub Assembly.

  • Performs one or more specialty skills: Assembly/Installation Doors, Integral Fuel Cell Sealing, Precision Bench Assembly, or Pressure and Vacuum testing.

Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Experience assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, and inspecting structural and system components per engineering specifications.

  • Experience using shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments for functional testing.

  • Experience setting up and operating conventional and CNC fastening equipment.

  • Experience with drivematic processes or similar automated fastening operations.

  • Skill in Assembly/Installation of Structures, Sealer, or Sub Assembly.

  • Skill in one of: Assembly/Installation Doors, Integral Fuel Cell Sealing, Precision Bench Assembly, or Pressure and Vacuum testing.

  • Experience working on Tags or Shear Webs assemblies.

  • Ability to pass plate test for structural mechanics.

  • Ability to stand and work for entire shift and work any assigned shift or weekend as required.

Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) to comply with ITAR regulations.
