Job summary

The Structures Company in Dallas, TX seeks an Aircraft Structural Mechanic II to assemble, install, and inspect structural components per drawings and specifications. You will read blueprints, use shop math and precision measuring tools, and work with composite resins to complete assemblies.

This contract position offers hands-on craftwork with power and hand tools, supports a continuous flow of production, and provides opportunities to cross-train in inspection to become SIA qualified.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related structural assembly experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and inspect structural components per drawings and specifications.
• Read blueprints and engineering docs for assembly tasks.
• Use precision measuring tools and shop math to complete work.
• Assemble sub-assemblies and end items using tools.
• Verify work per instructions and identify discrepancies.
• Work with composite resins and materials for structural assembly.
• Operate power and hand tools for assembly.
• Move products within the manufacturing area using equipment.
• Support continuous flow and train others.
• Cross-train in inspection and become SIA qualified.

Summary

• Assembles, installs, and inspects structural components using drawings, process specifications, and quality control requirements.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and engineering documentation for structural assembly tasks.
• Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments.
• Utilizes tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.
• Verifies work per work instructions and engineering specifications and identifies discrepancies.
• Works with composite resins and materials for structural assembly.
• Performs hands-on craftwork using power tools and hand tools associated with structural assembly.
• Routinely moves product within the manufacturing work area using shop assigned equipment.
• Perform work within allotted schedules and supports continuous flow of product by training and assisting employees.
• Cross-trains in inspection and becomes SIA qualified.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of related structural assembly experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Basic computer skills and basic shop math skills.
• Ability to read a scale and perform basic shop math.
• Ability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.
• Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
• Ability to climb ladders, stands, stairs, and work in small spaces or restricted areas.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
