Job summary

RECARO Aircraft Seating in Fort Worth, TX, seeks a Design Engineer II to advance seat and component designs in compliance with FAA regulations and OEM requirements. You will use CATIA v5 for 3D modeling and 2D drafting, and you will present designs in customer meetings to guide decisions.

Responsibilities include creating BOMs, supporting sourcing with proper documentation, and collaborating with overseas engineers and program management to discuss manufacturing issues and potential seat

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering with 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in the design of Aircraft interiors is desired.
Knowledge about aircraft documentation systems for after sales (CMM, SB) and aircraft configuration control systems is desired.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in CATIA v5 or similar is required.

Responsibilities

Utilize CAD 2D/3D systems (CATIA v5) to design aircraft seats and components meeting customer expectations and applicable regulations.
Generate 2D drawings from 3D models using aerospace drafting practices and in-house standards.
Respond to customer concerns by making design changes to meet expectations and regulations.
Participate in design meetings with project engineers to discuss issues and customer requests.
Support Purchasing and Production by providing documentation for sourcing parts.
Interface with outside suppliers during the design process.
