Job summary

Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Design Engineer II to advance the seating systems you will design and validate for compliance with FAA regulations and OEM requirements.

You will work with CATIA v5 to create complex 3D models and 2D drawings, and present designs in customer meetings. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 3–5 years’ related experience, with familiarity of aircraft interiors, CFR/EASA guidelines, and PLM tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 3–5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent.
• Experience in the design of Aircraft interiors is desired.
• Knowledge of aircraft documentation systems for after sales (CMM, SB) and aircraft configuration control systems is desired.

Responsibilities

• Design aircraft seats and components that meet customer expectations and applicable regulations.
• Generate 2D drawings based on 3D models using aerospace drafting standards.
• Respond to customer concerns by making design changes that comply with regulations.
• Participate in design meetings with project engineers to discuss issues and customer requests.
• Support purchasing and production with necessary documentation for sourcing parts.
• Interface with outside suppliers during the design process.
• Create bills of material for seat components and assemblies.
• Confirm materials align with their usage on the seat (Primary/Secondary Load Path).
• Create design change notification documents.
• Prepare presentations outlining design direction and issues.
