Job summary

Textron Aviation in Wichita is seeking an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter for the 5th shift (Wed-Sat, 4x10, 0700-1730). You will respond to aircraft emergencies, perform rescue and firefighting, and provide immediate medical support while coordinating with staff and contractors.

The role requires NFPA Firefighter 1/2, EMT license, and a high school diploma; a Fire Services or Emergency Management degree is preferred. Expect training, equipment upkeep, and on-site collaboration as core duties.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; bronze WorkKeys; Fire Services or Emergency Management degree preferred.
• Must obtain site certifications and permits as required.
• Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Emergency response to aircraft incidents and fires using specialized firefighting and rescue techniques.
• Emergency response to structural incidents and fires using specialized firefighting and rescue techniques.
• Emergency medical assistance provision when needed.
• Maintenance to firefighting equipment including apparatus, gear and tools.
• Participate in after action briefings to improve future responses.
• Prepare and present reports as needed.
• Complete regular inspections as required by NFPA, insurance provider, and company.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities with onsite Security and Fire personnel.
• May train new team members on the job.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
