Job summary

Gulf Aviation in Texas is seeking a pilot for aerial dispersal of sterile fruit flies in Cameron County and surrounding areas. The role requires a current instrument rating, 1,200+ total flight hours, and at least 200 PIC hours in Cessna 206/207.

The position operates 7 days a week with approximately 2–3 hours of flight time daily and is contract-to-full-time. Work location is in-person at the airport.

Qualifications

• Qualified instrument rated Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot with a current First or Second-Class FAA medical certificate.
• More than 1200 hours total time.
• More than 200 hours as pilot-in-command.
• 25 hours PIC in Cessna 206/207, with at least 10 hours in the last 12 months.
• Ability to operate the electronic Ag-Nav guidance system.
• Able to work in an airplane environment that can cause motion sickness.
• Able to fill out daily work sheets and read maps for tracking and reporting.
• Must pass a federal background check.

Job Description

Aerial dispersal of sterile fruit flies within Cameron County and surrounding areas performed in a Cessna 206 or Cessna 207. Position requires 7 day a week availability and total daily flight time approximately 2-3 hours daily. Position is Contract to Potential Full-Time.

Job Requirements

• Qualified instrument rated Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot with a current First or Second-Class FAA medical certificate for each aircraft who has:
• More than 1200 hours total time
• More than 200 hours as pilot-in-command
• A minimum of 25 hours pilot-in-command time in either a Cessna 206 or Cessna 207, at least 10 hours which must have been acquired within the preceding 12-month calendar
• Ability to operate the electronic Ag-Nav guidance system
• Able to work in an environment inside an airplane that can cause motion sickness
• Able to fill out daily work sheets and read maps for tracking and reporting activities
• Must be able to pass a federal background check
