Job summary

NextDeavor is seeking a detail-oriented NDT Technician 2 to perform non-destructive testing on sheet metal aircraft components on a first shift (4x10). You will interpret findings, maintain NDT sheets, and support junior staff while documenting results and ensuring accuracy in manufacturing plans and drawings.

Ideal candidates hold active NDT certifications (FPI, radiographic, digital x-ray), read engineering blueprints, and apply GD&T principles with precision measurement tools.

Qualifications

• NDT hours and active certifications required.
• Certified in FPI, radiographic inspection, and digital x-ray inspection.
• Ability to read manufacturing planning, blueprints, and sketches.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of shop math and precision measurement equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to anticipate problems in manufacturing and implement inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Process parts and interpret NDT findings per specs.
• Follow and update NDT technique sheets.
• Support junior NDT technicians with inspections.
• Document inspection findings and update planning entries.
• Create and revise NDT technique sheets.
• Generate radiographic X-ray film for parts.
• Detect faulty processes and escalate.
• Evaluate NDT methods for productivity improvements.
• Verify dimensions using calipers and micrometers.
• Interpret drawings and schedules.
• Work according to established standards and safety procedures.
