Job summary

NextDeavor in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an NDT Technician 3 to perform non-destructive testing on sheet metal aircraft components onsite in first shift.

You will execute FPI, radiographic, and digital X-ray inspections, interpret findings, and maintain technique sheets and documentation. The role requires reading blueprints and GD&T, and may supervise technicians.

Qualifications

Become a Key Player as an NDT Technician 3

You will perform non-destructive testing on sheet metal aircraft components to ensure product integrity and compliance with customer requirements. Your work directly supports Quality Engineering, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing teams by delivering reliable inspection data and approved technique documentation. This is an onsite, first-shift role (4x10s, Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM).

Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact on the Team

• Perform FPI, radiographic, and digital X‑ray inspections on complex parts and interpret findings to customer and organizational specifications.
• Follow and create NDT technique sheets; evaluate and approve technique changes used in FPI, radiography, and digital X‑ray processes.
• Program digital X‑ray systems and conduct inspections, documenting findings accurately.
• Audit NDT procedures and processes; interface with customers to provide objective evidence for approvals.
• Verify dimensional requirements using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools.
• Detect faulty processes, propose corrective actions, and verify customer requirements prior to implementation.
• Audit and verify performance adequacy of personnel performing NDT functions; may oversee other technicians.
• Ensure proper documentation in manufacturing planning and timekeeping systems.

Here’s What You’ll Need to Be Successful in This Role

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Documented NDT hours and/or certifications; certified in FPI, radiographic, and digital X‑ray inspection.
• Proven experience with X‑ray and digital radiography inspection methods.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints, and sketches.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of shop math and use of precision measurement equipment.
• Capability to inspect complex or custom parts across NDT work centers.
• Physical ability to perform tasks requiring climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing, and frequent movement.

Pay Range
