Job summary

Crafted Staff in the United States is hiring an NDT Technician 2 to perform non-destructive testing on sheet metal aircraft components. You will follow NDT techniques, interpret findings, and document results while maintaining safety standards.

Requirements include FPI, Radiographic and Digital X-Ray certification, ability to read blueprints, GD&T knowledge, and experience with precision measurement tools. 1st shift is 4x10s M-TH (5AM-3:30PM). Must be a US citizen.

Qualifications

• Certified in FPI, Radiographic and Digital X-Ray Inspection.
• Able to read and understand manufacturing planning, blueprints and sketches.
• Knowledge of GD&T and shop math.

Responsibilities

• Process parts and interpret findings per Exotic specifications.
• Follow NDT technique sheets and revisions.
• Support NDT Technician 1 and assist inspections.
• Document inspection findings accurately.
• Create/revise NDT technique sheets as required.
• Generate x-ray film for parts with simple and complex geometry.
• Check dimensions with calipers, micrometers and other tools.
• Ensure proper documentation on manufacturing planning and timecard system.
• Interpret written instructions, drawings and documents.
• Perform work per established standards and safety procedures.
• May demonstrate basic operations to others.

Pay rate: range: $27.90- $42.30/hr

1st shift: 4x10s M-TH (5AM-3:30PM)

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE NDT HOURS/CERTIFICATION(S)

NDT Technician 2

Perform non-destructive testing on a variety of sheet metal aircraft components.

Functions and Responsibilities:

• Process parts and interpret findings in accordance with Exotic and customer specifications and requirements.
• Follow established NDT technique sheets and ensures any revisions to established techniques meet Exotic and customer requirements.
• Support the NDT Technician 1 and provide assistance with inspection.
• Accurately document inspection findings.
• Create and revise NDT technique sheets per requirements.
• The ability to generate x-ray film for parts with simple and complex geometry.
• Detect faulty processes and bring to the attention of applicable NDT Tech or Supervisor.
• Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of NDT methods and techniques and proposes solutions to problems which impact productivity.
• Check required dimensions using calipers, micrometers and other inspection devices.
• Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning (including correct quantities) and paperless timecard system.
• Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings and documents.
• Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
• May demonstrate basic operations to others.
• Work under direct oversight in conventional x-ray and limited oversight in FPI.

Skills and Experience:

• Certified in FPI, Radiographic and Digital X-Ray Inspection.
• Able to read and understand manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints and sketches.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knows where to find this information at Exotic, and asks for help when necessary.
• Knowledge of shop math and precision measurement equipment.
• Possess adequate knowledge of Exotic manufacturing and NDT processes to be able to anticipate problems in order to implement effective and productive inspection techniques.
• General knowledge of welding and forming processes.
• Years of experience is not required - must have certification(s) and hours
