Job summary

Crafted Staff is seeking an NDT Technician 2 to perform non-destructive testing on sheet metal aircraft components in Phoenix, AZ. Must be a US citizen and hold NDT hours/certifications, including FPI and Radiographic X-Ray.

The role involves interpreting findings, following technique sheets, and documenting results. Shift is 4x10s (M-TH) from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with emphasis on accuracy and adherence to customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Certified in FPI, Radiographic and Digital X-Ray Inspection.
• Able to read manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints and sketches.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Possess adequate knowledge of Exotic manufacturing and NDT processes to anticipate problems and implement effective inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Process parts and interpret findings in accordance with Exotic and customer specifications and requirements.
• Follow established NDT technique sheets and ensure revisions meet requirements.
• Support the NDT Technician 1 and assist with inspection.
• Accurately document inspection findings.

1st shift: 4x10s M-TH (5AM-3:30PM)

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE NDT HOURS/CERTIFICATION(S)

NDT Technician 2

Perform non-destructive testingon a variety of sheet metal aircraft components.

Functions and Responsibilities

• Process parts and interpret findings in accordance with Exotic and customer specifications and requirements.
• Follow established NDT technique sheets and ensures any revisions to established techniques meet Exotic and customer requirements.
• Support the NDT Technician 1 and provide assistance with inspection.
• Accurately document inspection findings.
• Create and revise NDT technique sheets per requirements.
• The ability to generate x-ray film for parts with simple and complex geometry.
• Detect faulty processes and bring to the attention of applicable NDT Tech or Supervisor.
• Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of NDT methods and techniques and proposes solutions to problems which impact productivity.
• Check required dimensions using calipers, micrometers and other inspection devices.
• Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning (including correct quantities) and paperless timecard system.
• Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings and documents.
• Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
• May demonstrate basic operations to others.
• Work under direct oversight in conventional x-ray and limited oversight in FPI.

Skills and Experience

• Certified in FPI, Radiographic and Digital X-Ray Inspection.
• Able to read and understand manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints and sketches.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knows where to find this information at Exotic, and asks for help when necessary.
• Knowledge of shop math and precision measurement equipment.
• Possess adequate knowledge of Exotic manufacturing and NDT processes to be able to anticipate problems in order to implement effective and productive inspection techniques.
• General knowledge of welding and forming processes.
• Years of experiece is not required - must have certification(s) and hours
